Simon Youth Scholarship Kick Starts College Career for IU Freshman
international studies with his sights set on a career helping businesses boost
productivity. It’s a worthy professional
goal and one that this Indiana University freshman is on track to attain.
As a Carmel, Ind. high school student, Julian
received a 2013 Simon Youth Community Scholarship through the Fashion Mall at Keystone, and he credits much of his early success in college to opportunities
made possible through the scholarship.
“I feel like I am in the right place for my education
and for my career aspirations,” said Julian. “The SYF Scholarship really helped
me start off on the right foot at IU by providing a way for me to participate
in two important programs – the Intensive Freshman Seminar and the IU
Beginnings Program. SYF opened the door to
these programs, and the experience has given me a true competitive edge in a
challenging academic environment.”
The Intensive Freshman Seminar was a two-week program
that allowed incoming freshmen to fast-track a challenging course before the
official start of school, and the IU Beginnings program introduced a small
group of students to recruiters from some of the nation’s top companies that
partner with the Kelley School of Business.
SYF is delighted to learn of Julian’s early
success in college, and we wish him the best in his academic and career endeavors.
Like Julian, there are many other high school
seniors waiting to write their own stories of academic success, and we want to
share in that pursuit. The 2014 Simon Youth Community Scholarship application
process is still open for high school students who live in any community that
is home to a Simon Property. Click here to learn more, and apply before the January 21, 2014 deadline!
