By the time you read this blog, a student will have dropped out of high school. Abused. Bullied. Homeless. Battling a
life-threatening disease. Working full-time to support their families. These are just a few of the incredibly difficult life situations many students across our nation face – and among the many reasons students drop out of high school.
Across the U.S., 8,300 students drop of out school every day. That’s 8,300 too many!
SYF believes that all youth, no matter their personal circumstances, have the abilities to go anywhere that their
dreams lead them. And with the help of Simon Property Group (SPG), these dreams will be achieved.

Throughout the month of October, SPG employees show their dedication and commitment to the future success of SYF through its Employee Contribution Campaign (ECC) to support Simon Youth Foundation. Led by volunteer campaign chair David Contis, President of Simon
Malls, this year’s campaign goal is set at $450,000. This partnership and significant fundraising campaign is vital to the future success of SYF.

At SYF, we know the cost for one Simon Youth Academy student to graduate is $1,000. If SPG reaches its goal of $450,000, that’s 450 students SYF and SPG will help graduate. Each contributor to ECC ignites hope in at-risk students today and for those who will need SYF in the future.

Every 29 seconds, a student drops out of high school. In those 29 seconds, you can make a world of difference to a student in need. By supporting SYF, you can alter the course of a student’s life and help them stay in high school.

The Power of Orange (#poweroforange) is helping SYF continue its mission to help youth – who are at risk of dropping out of high school – graduate, develop life skills, and pursue post-secondary education and career paths.

The Simon Employee Association knows the #poweroforange. They provided the first donation to ECC this year: $1,276 from a dunk tank at this year’s company picnic. #poweroforange
