A two-day certificate program and training seminar to provide Hope 4 The Wounded Student – and those who support them. Click here to register today!

Across the United States, students are faced with many psychological and emotional stressors: bullying, pressures from social media and peers, family struggles, illness, economic security, and more. The pressures reach students across demographics and socio-economic groups, and often manifest where students spend most of their days – at school.

As such, teachers, counselors and administrators are often the first to identify these stressors, charged with meeting students social-emotional needs while helping them thrive academically. The calling to make a difference in a student’s life propels these educators in their daily work. And as their role increases to meet the evolving needs of today’s students, those who work with students need the tools, resources and knowledge to succeed.

As a former educator and administrator, Joe Hendershott experienced this first-hand, and he created the National Wounded Student Certificate Program to provide teachers and administrators with training to help students succeed in school and in life. As part of SYF’s Annual Educator Conference in Indianapolis this fall, Joe will deliver his training and certificate program for leaders of SYF’s Simon Youth Academies (non-traditional high schools primarily located in Simon malls). Over two days, participants will receive 15 hours of credit for the certificate (11 hours of face-to-face and four hours for an independent project).

Recognizing that other educators, counselors and administrators are also working to address their students’ social, emotional and academic needs, SYF has reserved 35 seats for non-SYF educators!
